Descriptions :
Breitling Stainless Steel "TOP-TIME" 24 Hours (Cosmonaute) Manual Wind 3-Reg. Chronograph WW with Original Black Dial. Circa 1960s/70s.
Dial :
Signed and original mat black 24-Hour dial appears to be in very good / excellent condition with only very minor aging sport marks shown on luminous area. Very unusual 24 Hour / COSMONAUTE type dial which normally appears on Navitimer series but this is surely genuine and original. White tone hour and minute hands and 'Red' chronograph second hand are all in good shape. Silver tone sub-dials. Outer tachometer ring is still very visible.
Case :
Signed and original stainless steel case with snap type back cover appears to be in fairly good condition with minor scratches from wear. The only flaw has been the 1mm dint mark shown at 9:00 on the bezel area and a few tiny worn marks shown behind the lugs. Snap back cover signed with Breitling / Waterproof / Antimagnetic / Shockprotected / Stainless Steel with Ref.810-24 appears to be very tight. Inside the case back cover also has Ref. 1091935. Signed and original crown.

Size Measured = 37mm without lugs and crown.

Movement :
Signed and original Cal.178 manual wind movement which is a Cosmonaute type 24 Hours movement. (Instead of having the hour hand turn 2 full cycle for a day, this watch hour hand only turn 1 full cycle for 1 day.) This idea was originally used for space mission which allow spacemen to be able to tell whether it is AM / PM easily (e.g. For 12:00 Noon, the watch will be shown like 6:00 for normal watch.
Remarks :
Watch itself runs quite well as it start running after the 1st wind. I noticed that the chronograph's hour register will not turn which suspect is lack of lubrication as I have only picked up this watch quite recently from the owner who has had the watch put in his safe for a few years. I had a good look at the movement and suggested that all it needs is a service and clean. There is basically nothing wrong with the watch (No Damage or Missing Part), the only thing is that it has been sit inside the safe for a long time and has not been serviced. I can offer it with service and clean but it will take quite some time as there are too many watches waiting for service at the moment. For those who are interested in this watch, I believe it can easily be serviced at where you are by repairer for approx. USD70-100.
